The intention of the project is to create an infrastructural prosthesis attached to existing infrastructure systems of NYC while using the air right spaces on the existing urban blocks. Prosthetic organs provide a common ground for people to face their consumption habits and observe recycling processes.
The new formation uses the air right spaces as a boundary and creates its own interacting dynamic entity. It starts building itself from the vertical shafts of the buildings. The surfaces, where the vertical shafts reach to the rooftop, are the merging regions for the prosthetic and the interior organs of the city.
Prosthetic organs have linear interior organization working as a continuity of existing infrastructure. These organs collect the waste produced in the building; they store, recycle, and reuse in the wild plantations or public bath, etc. While the prosthesis works in a mechanical discipline, the spaces inbetween the organs create public areas, which serve as a completely a new experience to the users.
